Eagle Nest Before 4:30:23 Rainstorm

These are views of the eagle nest before and after the recent rainstorm.

I'm sad to say it's looking like Rick and Ilsa will not have any surviving eaglets in this my 7th year of photographing them.

Eagle Dinner

Rick brings home the bacon (Atlantic Herring?) which is a good sign there is a viable hatchling or 2 or 3!

By the end of April, I should be able to see some fuzzy gray heads above the rim of the nest.

Eagle Framed by Trees

It is a bright sunny day so I was eager to see what was going on at nest central.

Seconds after I got my camera set up, Ilsa took to the sky in very windy conditions.

I captured a sequence as she was soaring…this was the last shot.

Eagle Food Source

The major source of food for our eagles is fish, however, they will also eat waterfowl and other birds which can be a source of flu - highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI).

Marc Lausier: "The most photographically important day of the year, is when I photo the season's eaglets. On April 22, 2022 I captured a series of photos when the eaglets appeared above the rim of the nest. Here the sole eaglet last year was being fed by Ilsa, but Rick also shares in that dut

Eagles on a Bright Sunny Morning

On this bright sunny morning, I knew eagle pair Rick and Ilsa (on the left) would be working on their nest. (Nikon Z7II, focal length 1050mm, at a distance of around 150yds.) For more Marc Lausier photos visit his website.
