Why the Nonesuch River?
The Nonesuch River and its associated river systems simultaneously unite the Town of Scarborough and divide it. They unite the Town as a bundle of hydrologic units, and they divide the Town into a number of scattered villages. Each of these villages has its own character based on where it is located in relation to the riverine, estuarine, marsh, and barrier beach ecosystem. As one travels upriver different aspects of the Town's character are revealed.
